URS provided vendor due diligence services for a global electricity firm's portfolio of approximately 90 sites located around the world.
Valued at 4 billion Euros, the portfolio includes production facilities dedicated to the manufacture and maintenance of electricity transmission and distribution equipment.
URS was commissioned to assess potential soil and groundwater liabilities, the need for environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance upgrades, and to develop associated cost estimates.
The team reviewed over 200 pre-existing EHS studies and conducted 12 additional Phase I EHS compliance audits and 13 additional Phase II soil and groundwater assessments to address key issues identified on a site by site basis in the initial review.
As numerous URS engineers participated in the assessment, a shared comprehensive database was developed to facilitate data management and interpretation. The tool helped to ensure real-time information of the client throughout the process. URS' findings were then submitted to the selected bidders for the business, with the URS team providing additional support by participating in Q&A sessions via meetings, conference calls and through the electronic data room.
URS also assisted the client with the preparation of the shares purchase agreement.
