Our work in the planning, permitting, design and construction of fossil fuel facilities includes more than 200 coal-fired projects totalling more than 90,000 megawatts worldwide; we have also designed and / or built more than 300 combustion turbine-generating units.URS designs and implements operating plant modifications and maintenance programmes that reflect cost-effective technical proficiency. We are fully experienced in the complex range of fuels and integration of support systems that keep power facilities efficient and clean. In addition, we provide services for clean-air retrofits, conventional oil and waste-to-energy projects.
We have installed 40,000 megawatts of flue-gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems (19,000 megawatts grassroots units and 21,000 megawatts of retrofit projects) – more than any other contractor. Our evaluation expertise, combined with our successful partnerships with all major suppliers in this industry, allows us to create profitable, flexible clean-air projects.
