We also evaluate the benefits of biomass, geothermal, solar energy and wind systems.Our extensive wind energy experience includes programmes in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. URS used geographic information system technology to locate the optimal position for wind turbines on a wind farm project for Ecogen, a New York-based renewable energy company.
Other renewable energy projects include studying the feasibility of harnessing tidal flows in San Francisco Bay as a potential source of clean, sustainable energy for the city and evaluating advanced technologies for converting municipal solid waste into electricity for the city of Los Angeles.
