Sound design and timely delivery are key factors for the public sector, whether delivering a regeneration scheme, infrastructure project or asset management programme. Partnering with the private sector, whether for financing or project delivery, is likely to become more important in the future.
URS provides an integrated and innovative multidisciplinary approach to the design and delivery of public sector programmes, helping the public sector make the most effective use of their assets. Our work is backed by professionals across all engineering, environmental and social disciplines.
Providing reliable delivery for the public sector
URS helps its public sector partners deliver programmes and projects in a timely and cost-effective way. Our work includes:
- Identification of partnering and financing opportunities with the private sector to enable programmes and projects to proceed, and assets to be fully realised
- Design and project management of sustainable building construction projects
- Integrated multidisciplinary expertise encompassing masterplanning, Environmental Impact Assessment, civil and infrastructure engineering and remediation, to regenerate decommissioned industrial and brownfield sites
- Implementation of contaminated land assessment and remediation programmes, including numerous projects with the Environment Agency
- Development of effective estate rationalisation and management plans for building and land assets, such as our work with Glasgow City Council

Our ongoing commitment to the public sector is illustrated by our involvement in key delivery frameworks, such as the Office of Government Commerce’s (OGC) Project Management & Full Design Team Services framework agreement, as part of the team led by project manager Rider Levett Bucknall, and including architect Broadway Malyan and property agency Knight Frank.
